Paris Air Show’s Market Size Reaches to $130 Billion

Paris Air Show, recognized as one of the greatest aerospace events, opened its doors for the 51st time on 15-21 June 2015. This year’s 2303 exhibitors helped break the previous record set in 2013 while both trade and general public visitors came in their droves, with more than 350,000 visitors and 4300 journalists passing through the Gates,an 11% increase on the attendance in 2013. There were also many new aircraft showcased such as the Dassault Falcon 8X, Airbus A350 XWB, Boeing 787, A400M, Pakistan’ JF17 Fighter Plane and the Bombardier CS300. Almost 130 aircrafts,helicopters and drones were on display, both in the air and on the ground.

296 official delegations from 91 countries participated in the event in which the order size was recessed to €130 billion, €20 billion behind the size reached in 2013. The event witnessed the competition between the leading aerospace companies; Airbus and Boeing. The total amount of orders received by the aforementioned two companies is recorded as €100 billion. Boeing received an order of 145 aircrafts where Airbus received 124. The amount of orders received by Airbus Company together with the pre-contracts reached up to 421 while Boeing’s quantity of received orders remained at 331. Thus, the total amount of orders placed to the European aerospace company reached to €50 billion where American Boeing company received an order of $50,2 billion.
