In order realize this vision, its mission is to meet the system requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces and the government organizations that promote the national defence and security, and also to establish and implement the strategy and procedures for the development of our defence industry. As a part of this mission, SSM is participating to the “Defence Systems and

Equipments Exhibition” for the first time with a Turkish Pavilion in London now. Recently, our 42 companies were also led by SSM under national

umbrella at the IDEX 2007 Defence Industry Exhibition in Abu Dhabi- United Arab Emirates in February 2007. As in its 2007-2011 Strategic Plan, which is prepared by Strategic Planning Team of SSM this year, SSM is targeting to increase the export figure of Turkish Defence Products and Services to 1 billion USD by the year 2011.. On the industry side, we have our

Defence Industry Manufacturers Association (SASAD) which was is established in 1990 with the supply and encouragement of The Ministry of

Defence having its principal office in ANKARA. SASAD’s mission is to get together all our Defence Industry firms in order to be a more strong sector to encourage all the participation and opinions of its shareholders to establish

a collective target, collective mind and a permanent partnership. For this purpose, it is associating and establishing a cooperation with supply and user agencies in order to respond current and future demands of the Defence Industry firms. Today our SASAD (Defence Industry

one of the growing engineering company,BGMSA.S., purely national and has local design and production capability, which might join this Turkish Pavilion next time. BGM Ltd. has strengthened its capabilities with its new establishment as BGMS A.S. The new establishment has generated further potential for new

investments in new capacities. The company serves in its new 3.500sqm covered production facility located in Gebze/ Kocaeli. The production facility is full compliant with the

requirements of advanced composite productions. The new facility has much larger and capable, HVAC outfitted, warehouses, production and assembly shops. As with BGM Ltd., BGMS A.S. was

founded as design and engineering company specializing in the design, engineering and the production of high-technology fibre reinforced composite products, including marine vessels,

land-borne vessels, their associated parts and air-borne vessel parts. BGMS A.S. has also selected to continue with Det Norske Veritas/ Norway to certify its management system which is

designed to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. Conceptual design of products, styling, industrial design and ergonomics, structural design of fibre reinforced composite products, design and engineering of marine vessels of fibre reinforced composite construction for military, commercial and leisure applications, design-styling and ergonomics of automobiles for leisure applications, model, tooling and product productions utilizing CAD/CAM capabilities,

resin infusion, LRTM, vacuum bagging, hand lay-up productions of fibre reinforced composite products, monolithic and structural sandwich productions, productions utilizing various resin systems including epoxy, vinylester and polyester are among the capabilities of BGMS A.S.

The company has also strengthened its position with its recent investment in an in-house CNC router. However, the company also continues with its investments in its core competence: human. The design, engineering, production and operation teams are much more capable with new team members. The company continues to exist with

its enhanced design and production power in novel projects where fibre reinforced plastics is the main construction material. There are new and progressing projects with outstanding companies of both military and commercial industries. Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik A.S., Aselsan A.S., Proteksan-Turquise A.S.

and Yay Gemi Yapım A.S. are among these companies. The aim of BGMS A.S. is to spread its

capabilities and services withindefence, and commercial industries. With this approach the company also offers an advantage to foreign companies to fulfil their offset requirements.
