Aselsan’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle DERİNGÖZ Successfully Completes Diving Tests

Date: Issue 128 - March 2024

The first submerged system tests of DERİNGÖZ, Türkiye's first Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) with a modular structure that can be used for both military and civilian purposes, have been successfully completed by Aselsan. DERİNGÖZ AUV stands out with its features, including high maneuverability, precise navigation capability, customizable mission payloads, optical and sonar imaging technologies, and wireless communication infrastructure.

As Türkiye's first AUV, DERİNGÖZ can be effectively utilized in various fields such as research, exploration, underwater surveillance, mine detection, pipeline inspection, port and base protection, and many others. With an operating depth capability of 600 meters, DERİNGÖZ is equipped with wireless communication capability and offers expandable mission payload configurations according to the needs. It is expected that DERİNGÖZ, with a maximum speed of 5.5 knots and underwater scanning speed of 3 knots, will significantly enhance Türkiye's capabilities in the Blue Homeland.
