EST15K Automatic Transmission Order for ALTAY MBT

South Korean SNT Dynamics announced that it signed an agreement with BMC to supply EST15K Automatic Transmission for the Serial Production ALTAY Main Battle Tanks. The deal is valued at around €200 Million, including options.

Under the agreement, approximately €68.926 Million will be paid to SNT Dynamics for 90 EST15K Automatic Transmission, which will be delivered between January 30, 2023 - December 31, 2027, in the first phase. An additional 150 SNT Dynamics EST15K Transmission, which is included as an option in the agreement and is expected to be delivered between January 1, 2028 - December 31, 2030, is expected to cost €130,900 Million.

Last year, it was announced that 100 sets of Doosan Infracore product Korean PowerPack would be procured from South Korea and integrated into the ALTAY T1 and T2 MBTs. The Korean PowerPack consists of Doosan Infracore product 1,500 hp (1,100 kW) DV27K 4-cycle 12-cylinder (V12) twin-turbocharged & air-to-water intercooled 27.2-liter diesel engine and the SNT Dynamics product EST15K Automatic Transmission with hydraulic torque converter (six forward and three reverse gears). As the EST15K Transmission order has been officially announced, the order for the Hyundai Doosan Infracore product DV27K Diesel Engine will be made public soon. Signed on November 9, 2018, the €3.5 billion ALTAY MBT Serial Production Contract covers the production and delivery of 251 tanks in three different configurations, 40 T1, 210 T2, and 1 T3 prototype with an unmanned turret.
