İŞBİR and ASPİLSAN are Investing in Energy

Subsidiaries of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF), İŞBİR and ASPİLSAN gained momentum in their investments which are designed to ensure Turkey will gain new capabilities in the field of energy.

As Turkey’s first generator factory, İŞBİR carries out its activities in the production of generators and alternators and has focused on increasing its investments to achieve sustainable growth and elevating the products it developed to a more competitive position in terms of technology and cost. The TAFF on the other hand continues to support İŞBİR by all means through the allocation of the company fund of TRY 76 million to be used in the investment that is worth TRY 182 million.s a result of İŞBİR’s investment in a factory under construction at Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone on an area spanning 36,680 m2, a company in Turkey will now aquire the capability of “indigenous and national serial alternator production” for the first time. Turkey will take its indigenization campaign in the field of energy to the next level with this factory which is planned to be launched in 2022.  Lithium-ion battery cell production will provide solutions to the ever-increasing energy storage demands through indigenous facilities.

Founded with the donations of the citizens of Kayseri to fulfill the military’s demand for batteries, ASPİLSAN is Turkey’s first and only company that conducts the production of civilian and military aircraft/helicopter batteries. ASPİLSAN expedited its investments in R&D studies on energy storage systems and launched three new R&D centers in Ankara, Istanbul and Kayseri. To this end, the company built an investment plan to establish Turkey’s first lithium-ion battery production plant and signed the contract with the prime contractor for the construction work. Within the scope of ASPİLSAN’s TRY 186 million investment, the TAFF allocated a fund of TRY 109 million.
