TAI RECEIVES FROST&SULLIVAN AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE LEADERSHIP AWARD

In recent years the UAV market is seen as the defence segment that requires the most technology. Among the leading competitors in this segment, TAI is in a leadership position with the Turkish MALE UAV class ANKA. TAI is grateful to its experienced and devoted team of 200 engineers for its success with ANKA.

The award is presented annually by Frost & Sullivan to firms that undertake research and as a result of this research that contributes or is expected to contribute to this sector in adaptation, change or competitive strength. The award also denotes the quality and depth of the company’s R&D program and its vision as well as the courage to take risks that enable the company to make this effort.

On ANKA:

Within the coverage of the Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Development Program, the ANKA system consists of three air vehicle prototypes, ground control station, ground data terminal, automatic take-off and landing system, transportable image exploitation system, remote video terminal and ground support equipment.

The system which is designed for night and day missions including adverse weather conditions, performs real time image intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, moving/stationary target detection, recognition, identification and tracking missions. In order to carry the said missions, the system can carry the following payloads onboard: EO/FLIR/LRF and SAR/GMTI-ISAR.
