Under the leadership of Mr. Dirk STARINK, Chairman of the Netherlands Aviation Group (NAG) and former Air Force Commander of the Netherlands, a delegation consisting of company officials in the Dutch aviation sector visited Turkey to obtain first hand information on the capabilities of the Turkish defense industry and to exchange views. The Dutch delegation , organised under the authority of EVD, the Dutch Agency for International Business and Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs ,visited the Undersecretatiat for Defence Industries, TAI, TEI, the Eski?ehir Chamber of Industry and Havelsan as well as other agencies and companies.

During Eski?ehir Chamber of Industry visit, The president of the Dutch delegation Mr D. Starink said in his speech that our nations share many interests in highly technological aviation programmes, both military and civil. It is therefore of utmost importance that delegates of both nation’s industries meet to find common ground and to develop business. With this background, as Chairman of the Netherlands Aerospace Group (NAG), I feel honored to lead a trade mission of Dutch Aerospace Industries to Eski?ehir in order to meet Turkish counterparts in primarily MRO enterprises.
He also stated that in establishing personal relations and exchange experiences, we hope to develop business of mutual interest for Turkish and Dutch companies. This trade mission is also a valuable opportunity to discuss further outlook of the aerospace market, which is currently in a difficult position worldwide.
The Chairman of Eski?ehir Chamber of Industry, Mr Sava? Özaydemir expressed his pleasure to welcome the Dutch delegation and he said that this kind of joint organizations are very important for regions in long term relations. He added that the aviation sector is very crucial for Eski?ehir and the city has a considerable experience in this industry. This activity will bring many opportunities for manufacturers and will be a great start for the new projects.

The Netherlands aerospace industry has a long history in aircraft manufacturing and airline development. The past ten years are characterized by a high level of innovation and the
application of new materials, for example Glare and Thermoplastics. Both composite materials replace the traditional metals, but also contribute to lighter, green aircrafts.
As the Netherlands aerospace sector is very diverse, within this diversity, she earned respect
in fields such as structures, and currently supplies to large aerospace companies globally.
The aircraft engine component industry is also highly developed, and manufactures for the civil and the military markets. In addition to that, Dutch companies have specific expertise in the field of avionics and are active in MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) activities.
The Dutch aerospace industry is supported by a well recognised technology development
infrastructure. The National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) and the Technical University in Delft are globally well known for their aerospace technology.

The Netherlands Aerospace Group is the National Association of Aerospace Companies and Organisations engaged in education, R&D, engineering, manufacturing and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul of civil and military equipment. Members improve their business position by being part of an active association that incorporates over 95% of the Dutch Aerospace Industry. Since 2009 the Netherlands Aerospace Group has opened a representative office in Izmir, Turkey. The NAG Turkey rep. office will offer local support for those members seeking colaboration with the Turkish aerospace industry. The office is represented by Mr. Aykut Kolcuoglu.
